IDGS, Jumat, 13 Desember 2019 - The Game Awards 2019 mengambil yang digelar di Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat, baru saja usai digelar pada hari ini, Jumat (13/12) di mana pengembang From Software menyabet penghargaan Game of the Year dengan Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Nominasi lainnya untuk kategori tersebut antara lain adalah: Control, Death Stranding, Super Smash Bros, Ultimate, Resident Evil 2 (Remake), dan The Outer Worlds. Sekiro sendiri juga menggondol penghargaan Best Action/Adventure di tahun 2019.

Game RPG Disco Elysium juga menjadi salah satu jawara di The Game Awards kali ini dengan menjadi nominasi di empat kategori dan menjadi juara di keempat kategori tersebut: Best Narrative Game, Best Independent Game, Best RPG, dan Fresh Indie Game.

Siaran langsung The Game Awards 2019 juga mewartakan banyak kabar seputar video game, terutama diungkapkannya konsol terbaru Microsoft, Xbox Series X yang merupakan konsol next-generation yang sebelumnya dikenal sebagai Project Scarlett. Konsol ini akan mulai dijual pada 2020 di man Halo Infinite terpilih sebagai video game yang akan diluncurkan bersamaan dengan Series X.
